Quick blogpost

Oh hey readers.

So if you remember in my introduction post-- ie, refresh your memory by scrolling down-- I mentioned how I want to do bi-monthly thematic readings. Well, I am still not at that point yet, but I thought it might be nice to draft some potential themes. These are very loose -- and yes, a lot of them are based on The Readables past themes. However, I hope to fine tune them in the future as I get closer to actually reading in a thematic format.

And in no particular order:

  • French classic -- examples, Le tour du monde en 80 jours by Jules Vernes, Les Miserables.
  • Latino-american authors (possibly magical realism only?)
  • Spanish anthology of poems
  • Nigerian literature
  • South African Literature
  • Other African Literature
  • Franco-African and Franco-Caribbean literature
  • English classics
  • Russian classics -- translated
  • Steam punk
  • Fairy tales, folklore and fairy tale retellings
  • Josei Manga
  • Graphic Novels
  • Arabic -origin literature
  • African diaspora literature (or maybe just diaspora)
  • American classics.
  • French anthology of poems
  • Horror
  • Science Fiction
  • Beach Reads

I might turn this list into an extra page on the blog so I keep track of literary themes. I feel that now that I am not in an academic program, I have to much more thirst for knowledge-- in a "give me all the books" sense. If you have any themes to suggest in the comments leave them below.

Otherwise, give me plus or minus three years to get through these books.

Finally, I just wanted to quickly thank Literary Creature for reblogging my post. You can check her out here.

That's it from me.
